Meet Rocco! When this playful guy hops into your life, you’d never believe he’s a senior pup! Rocco is a 16 pound, 13 year old Chihuahua/Pomeranian mixed with some Heinz 57 breeds, that loves to play with other dogs and chew on a bone or toy. This silly guy has a lot of personality! His signature move is to kick his back leg to get a dog to play with him. He gets along with dogs (hasn’t been around cats, but would probably be fine), but does need to be monitored when food is around, since he has some food aggression issues. Rocco is working through some anxiety issues, so he will need an owner who takes it slowly with him and gives him the boundaries and space he needs to feel comfortable and safe. He will do best in a quieter home with no children and an experienced dog owner who will work with him on his anxiety. He is comfortable being left alone in a gated area at night or when everyone is away, and loves snuggling on the couch. He needs a little work on walking on a leash, but does enjoy taking walks and being outside. This little guy will make a great companion for someone looking for a mix of playfulness and calm.  PLEASE NOTE: Rocco will not be a fit for senior citizens or homes with children.  Rocco does require a fenced yard due to taking time to warm up to new people.  Rocco does not do well with vet visits and will need patience and positive reinforcement with any vetting he needs.

To adopt Rocco, please complete an adoption application at peacelovepoms.rescuegroups.org.  The $250 adoption fee includes core vaccines (Rabies, Parvo/Distemper, and Bordatella) neuter, dental, blood work, Accuplex (Heart worm and lyme test) fecal, microchip, and all the love you can handle.
