PLEASE READ ENTIRE BIO FOR LOUIE AS HE HAS VERY PARTICULAR NEEDS

Louie is an adorable 9 pound wolf sable merle Pomeranian that is 1 year old.  This little guy needs physical and mental stimulation to be happy and curb any behavioral issues.  In fact Louie would be excellent for agility and/or lure coursing competition as he is fast, too smart for his own good, and agile.  A potential home must have a fenced yard and at least one other young small playful dog as Louie craves companionship and a playmate in his size range (no dogs over 18 pounds as he is afraid of them).  Louie can develop possessive behaviors if given the opportunity, BUT that is able to be avoided by keeping him in a strict structured routine that includes crating at night or when no one is home.  He also cannot have any toy monkeys or hedgehogs as these are his triggers.  It is important to only use positive reinforcement with Louie and making things fun that you want him to do are the key to success.  Louie did graduate from 5 weeks of puppy training class where he excelled learning his commands and new tricks.  We have worked hard on desensitizing Louie to noises, grooming, and vet visits.  Unfortunately, he does need some medicine to calm him prior to vet visits and grooming.  Any potential home must understand the medicine is crucial to avoid any biting as muzzling Louie is not possible.  However, he is receptive to a hood to protect him and you during grooming and vet visits.  His main issue is paw fur trimming, nail trims, and blood draws.  It takes time for Louie to trust new people, but he does greet people and interact like a normal happy social boy.  We know we are asking for a unicorn adopter, but Louie has had trouble in several different homes prior to coming into rescue and after months of work we know to be successful he must have these specific requirements.
