Peace Love and Poms Rescue

Archie is a gorgeous 14 pound, 1 year old Pom mix that started out his life in the wrong home causing him to be fearful.  He is gaining confidence every day in his foster home and learning new commands to help redirect. Vet visits and grooming are scary for him because he never experienced these things before. He does take some medication to help calm him for these stressful times. Due to negative reinforcement in his previous home, he has anxiety, but prozac has helped him tremendously. With time, patience and space Archie has thrived and become an affectionate boy who loves his people. He takes longer to bond with men, but with time and treats he will be their best friend. He does love other dogs, but they have to be his size or smaller as he can be reactive to dogs taller and bigger than he is. It really is a fear response, and he will need continued work on socialization and proper bonding. Food and praise are the way to this boys heart and are helping him forget his troubled past. We know a loving family can help Archie become the best boy ever! He is crate trained, and leash trained, but would love a fenced yard. He is getting better with his house training too and with a consistent schedule he always does his business outside.
