Don’t’ let the name fool you. This very pretty 3 year old Shih-Tzu mix has beauty and brains. Beautiful Bella is incredibly smart, intuitive, affectionate, and sweet. She wants to please, be by your side as much as possible, and wants to be her special human’s one and only pet. Beautiful Bella, “Bella” for short, does not play well with others. Incredibly quick to learn commands, “leave it” when another dog or animal is involved is understood but is very difficult for her to abide. Bella is obsessed with balls of all kinds, including the ones at the bottom of her foster mother’s walker. Her favorite one, at one time white, now is so chewed up looks like a badly peeled boiled egg. Speaking of eggs, this girl has quite a varied appetite. She doesn’t over eat her meals but will go for all kinds of treats, including baby carrots, apples, the hard crunchy center of ice burg lettuce, and oh yeah gets really excited when the “peanut butter box” arrives. Peanut butter in a Kong is super delish!  Bella needs her human to be very active. Someone who hikes or jogs regularly would help keep this girl’s anxiety issues minimized. Unfortunately, Bella was abused and neglected and has come a long way with trusting new people. She has blossomed so much in her time at the rescue and with her foster mommy. More frequently, she now has become more courageous and happy to greet and meet new people. She can sense if you are a kind dog person. Bella needs a lot of kind, gentle, encouragement, and patience to help overcome her separation anxiety. A crate is very helpful when her human has to leave the house. She is quite vocal and shouldn’t live too close to other neighbors. She is quite talented and could be an opera star. She is definitely a lyric soprano! Beautiful Bella is an incredible dog and will forever be your loving and committed buddy and love bug.
