Meet Buttercup, the 1 year old, 5 pound Chihuahua looking for her perfect home. Let us just tell you, Buttercup is a horrible name for this demon child! She is 200 pounds of personality packed in a tiny body who will take over your home and heart. Buttercup is a maneater and only allows handling by the woman of the home. She allows her foster papa to live in her foster home, but does not permit him to touch her or do any of her care. Little miss prefers other Chihuahuas and expresses her displeasure of bigger dogs quite vocally. Her previous life must have been working as a magician because this girl is Houdini level escape artist. Harnesses do not stay on her no matter how perfect they fit, collars are off as soon as they are put on, she can squeeze through holes even a baby mouse couldn't fit through, and her climbing skills are better than any mountain goat in history. Because of this she can either be kept indoors and use peepads since she never misses her mark on them or she will need a securely fenced yard (no gap at the bottom, no gap at gates, must be at least 5 foot high, and no decorative fencing or chain link fencing will work because she will scale it in the blink of an eye). Now don't get us wrong she does have good qualities too, just look at how cute she is! In fact, she has made great progress here in rescue. She has learned that toys are fun and it entertains her so she isn't constantly needing to be carried around like a queen. She also enjoys her bully sticks while the humans watch movies. Buttercup is crate trained, has learned how to play appropriately with the other small dogs, and is really blossoming well here. She would benefit from continued socialization and boundaries while she learns her new family and home, and even some group puppy classes would do her some good. Won't you give this little lady a chance the good life?
