Fozzy once was a beautiful boy with a luxurious coat. We imagine he would have been movie star material if he hadn't landed in the wrong hands. Unfortunately, he lived life with a hoarder, watched his furry friends die before his eyes, and was removed from his dilapidated home by dog law enforcement after we heard of the conditions he was left in and filing a report. When the rescue coordinator asked us to take him a few weeks later we cried with joy to get our hands on this traumatized guy. At 11 years old and 12 pounds, he was shaved to the skin due to painful mats and after 4 months in rescue with good nutrition, there is no sign of his fur growing back. Fozzy doesn't allow touch, but he follows his foster family around and happily takes his treats. He's learned to accept grooming and care when needed, but prefers to be left alone and do things on his terms. He is healthy now, and barley has any teeth left. He found his voice at the 2 month mark and loves to talk to us. Fozzy's favorite thing in the world is other dogs! They light up his life and he is happy being part of a pack. A new home for this quirky boy will require a few things; at least one other dog, a fenced yard, and humans who will allow him to do his own thing with no expectations of him allowing or accepting affection. He is very agile despite being a senior, able to get on furniture and do steps. He truly is a good boy who just wants a safe place to live out his days. He does take anxiety medications that have helped him overcome his past trauma and blossom to the boy he is today. We don't know what the last year's of his life will bring, but we hope for a home to accommodate his sweet face and love him no matter what.
